Mirko Määttä moves in with his parents, Anne and Markku, in the apartment of his sick grandmother. The family decide to stay after the death of the grandmother, and Mirko quickly gets to know the other children in the neighborhood. What was supposed to be a normal summer holiday takes an unexpected turn when the neighbors son Kristian disappears without a trace.

Mirko and his family move to his mother's childhood home in Munkkivuori. When he arrives, the whole neighbourhood is deeply shocked by the recent disappearance of a young boy.
