On July 30th 1945 the USS Indianapolis was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine. Over 800 sailors were stranded on the open sea, facing devastating conditions and hungry sharks. Only 316 sailors were rescued. The final resting place of the ship was a mystery until 70 years later.
